Youth Football

5v5

Football is our national game, one that has the potential to ignite and fascinate millions of people across the world, and this is a young person’s first steps on that voyage.

Our Under 7 and Under 8 teams play 5v5 which provides a great introduction to the game of football at a size and scale that meets the needs of the children playing – with smaller pitches and goals.  This is usually an introduction for a newly appointed coach who will be on an equally challenging learning curve.

For the 2017/18 Season we have 5 teams playing the 5v5 format of the game.

Under 7 Dragons     Under 7 Falcons     Under 7 Hawks     Under 8 Bears     Under 8 Eagles

7v7

Football is our national game, one that has the potential to ignite and fascinate millions of people across the world, and this is a young person’s next step on that voyage.

As players progress they move up to 7v7 for the Under 9 and Under 10 seasons.  This involves moving to a larger pitch but is still officially non-competitive.  Within this age group we continue to work on developing a range of skills with our players helping them to establish their preferred or best position in the team.

For the 2017/18 Season we have 4 teams playing the 7v7 format of the game.

Under 9 Rockets     Under 9 Tigers     Under 10 Jaguars     Under 10 Pirates

9v9

Football is our national game, one that has the potential to ignite and fascinate millions of people across the world, and this group of children are on that journey.

The next step in the football development is to 9v9 for our Under 11 and 12 teams.  In this format of the game we introduce the offside rule which is a much of a challenge to our volunteer linesmen as it is to the players.  Again at this format the pitch a goal increases in size to reflect the growth in size and power of the players.

For the 2017/18 Season we have 5 teams playing the 9v9 format of the game.

Under 11 Raptors     Under 11 Warriors     Under 12 Boys     Under 12 Royals     Under 12 Warriors

11v11

Football is our national game, one that has the potential to ignite and fascinate millions of people across the world, and this group of children are on that journey.

The final stage in the Youth section is the move up to 11v11 football.  We are fortunate at Yateley United that we have 1 smaller pitch that allows this progression to be a slightly phased transition although the players get to use a full-size goal from Under 13s.  In this format, we are governed by all of the rules of Association Football with no changes from those used in the adult game.

For the 2017/18 Season we have 11 teams playing the 11v11 format of the game.

Under 13 Jaguars     Under 13 Pumas     Under 14 Leopards     Under 14 Lions

Under 15 Dragons     Under 15 Kingfishers     Under 16 Hornets

Under 17 Panthers     Under 17 Saturday     Under 18 Pumas     Under 18 Sunday
