🗓 Weekend Results – January 13th/14th

Another strong week for our sides this week, even with a couple of unfortunate postponements…

It was another successful weekend for our SDP ties, with wins from both that went ahead. Unfortunately our Ladies fixture was postponed due to the opposition, Brook House, unable to field a side. Five adult fixtures played and four wins.

On Saturday, Our U23s were at home in front of a decent crowd. What a game.

A top of the table clash between our 3rd placed U23s against visitors, 2nd placed Tooting and Mitcham United FC. The visitors having played two more games, turned up with a game plan and after going 1-0 in 6 minutes, a second followed mid-way through the first half. It lol Ed like it was going to be a tough afternoon especially with the visitors “managing the game”.

Early in the second half, Tooting and Mitcham extended their lead to 3. Game over? Not a chance! What came next was a magical and amazing 25 minutes of resilience, hunger and team spirit. Goals from Ben Tait (x2), Will Paine, Jack Holmwood and an own goal meant an incredible and well deserved turn around and our 23s closing the gap in the league with a 5-3 victory! Player of the Match: Ben Tait. NEXT UP: Ash United Reserves (A) 20.01.24.

Away from home, our first team travelled to eighteenth placed Windsor FC. First half goal from Josh Mynard and goals from Harry Lee and Charlie Westell and yet another clean sheet for Ben Parslow meant the game finished 3-0. Another win on the road, our sixteenth league win this season and 5th on the bounce. Player of the Match: Harry Wilcox. NEXT UP: Langley FC (H) 20.01.24. Tickets on Sale now.

Saturday also saw fixtures for both our ‘A’ and ‘B’ sides.

A goal from Ed D’Alton was not enough as unfortunately our A’s dropped points away from home to Mortimer FC. A’s remain top of the league. Player of the Match: Ben Read. NEXT UP: Cookham Dean (A) 20.01.24.

Our B team won again in a match full of goals against Camberley United. A hat-trick from Player of the match Harry White and goals from Christian Booth (x2) and James Galpin secure a 3-6 win. Player of the Match: Harry White. NEXT UP: Wey Valley (H) 20.01.24.

On Sunday our Vets unfortunately were the only team in action.

Our league leading Ladies were scheduled to face Brook House at Sean Devereux Park in a league fixture. Unfortunately the visitors were unable to field a team so the match was postponed. NEXT UP: Ruislip Rangers Ladies 2nd (H) 28.01.24.

Our Vets were at SDP and beat Sandrock Vets, 3-0, in the Challenge Cup fourth round. Goals from Kai Francis, Alexander Jenkins and Robert Smith. Player of the Match: TBC. NEXT UP: Blackwater Vets Vets (H) 11.03.24.

An action packed week ahead of us with our U18 Allied side at home vs Burnham on Wednesday. We’d love to see you under the lights – 7:45pm Kick Off!

Thank you to the magnificent support home and away and have another great week…
