Alan Fielder

Forward (1950/60s)

Fielder was a prolific goalscorer for his local side Yateley and was on Reading’s books for two seasons as a youngster, playing for them in the Southern Junior Floodlit Cup against a Chelsea side which included Terry Venables and Peter Bonetti.

He joined Wokingham Town in 1960 and spent ten years there, playing for their first team and reserves.

In addition to football, he was also a highly talented batsman with Finchampstead and in one season scored 1,500 runs.

Fielder died at the age of 44 in February 1986 at his home in Moulsham Lane, Yateley.
