The First Team have so far played 5 pre-season friendlies, winning 4 and losing 1.

They kicked off with a 3-1 win vs. Berks County after goals from Ant Sharpe, Matt Hood & Myles White on 1st August, followed by a 1-0 win away to Windlesham & Chobham United on 8th August, thanks to a Charlie Wilcox penalty.

The next two games were both played at Aldershot Garrison 3G on 15th & 17th August, and the First Team scored 12 goals and conceding 0, beating Woodley United Royals and Ash United Reserves 7-0 and 5-0 respectively.  The goalscorers against Woodley United Royals were Josh Mynard, Matt Hood, Jack Linturn, Sam Munden, Finlay Scott & Kieran Bradley (2), whilst the goalscorers vs. Ash United Reserves were Finley Scott, Ant Sharpe, Rhys Kirkby-Cox, Callum Scott and an OG.

On Saturday 22nd August, Yateley lost their first game of pre-season to West End Village after an under-par performance coupled with the lack of a recognised goalkeeper.  Ant Sharpe and Dan Gosling were the goalscorers in the 3-2 loss.

First Team’s next scheduled fixtures:
Horsley FC (A) – 25th August
Finchampstead FC (N) – 1st September

A great performance from our newly-formed Development Team as they beat Ottershaw FC 3-1 in their first pre-season fixture on 8th August.

The team continued their build up to the Suburban League season, putting in a solid performance in a 1-1 draw against a strong Westfield FC Reserves side, only being denied victory by a soft penalty late on, which cancelled out Alpha Sesay’s earlier goal.

Finally, the A Team kicked off their pre-season, going down 3-0 to Virginia Water Development on 22nd August.  It was a good game and a bit of a harsh result, with us rattling the woodwork a few times and missing a penalty!  There were plenty of positives to take from the game however with a number of new lads doing well.  Roll on next week!

The B Team faced AFC Laffans in a friendly on 8th August and were beaten 8-3.

Yateley United Sunday Team won their first friendly on Wednesday 19th August as they beat FYFC Old Boys in a high-scoring game 4-3.  Lee Sampeys, Frank Brown, Bailey Smith & Ben Young (pen) with the goals.
