Yateley United Walking Footballers Qualify for FA Cup Regional Round

Yateley United’s Mixed Over 50s Walking Football team have booked their place in the Regional Round of the FA Walking Football Cup after an outstanding qualifying campaign.

The team travelled to Sunday’s qualifying event on 9 August knowing they would need to perform consistently across three matches – and they did exactly that.

Yateley opened their campaign with a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Portsmouth Whites, before producing their biggest result of the day with a commanding 4–0 win against MFC Popley WF.

The final fixture saw Yateley face Gosport WFC, with the team completing a perfect qualifying campaign thanks to a 2–1 victory.

That meant three games, three wins and nine points, putting Yateley United firmly at the top of the group.

Yateley finished the qualifying group with 9 points and a +6 goal difference, ahead of Portsmouth Whites on six points.

It is a fantastic achievement for the Walking Football Group and another great moment for Yateley United, with the team now progressing to the Regional Round on Saturday 5 September.
