YUFC U7’s play Southampton Pre-Academy teams..
This year’s graduates from our U6 academy continue their football development and journey through the pathway as Under 7’s and are loving it!
This years incumbent include 7 players who have earned places in various pre-academies in the south, including Wycombe Wanderers, Reading and Southampton.
This weekend our YUFC U7’s were invited to play a side against the Southampton U7 Pre Academy Elite team on Saturday (18th November 2023) in the dome at Southampton FC’s Staplewood Training Centre.
The Southampton U7 Pre Academy Elite are deemed the best 12 players in the Southampton Football Club set up.
They played three matches against two U7 Southampton Academy teams and one against an U8 team. The team represented Yateley United FC impeccably and enjoyed their time immensely.
“They were understandably nervous at first but once they found their confidence they were able to start playing some really great football.”
An incredible experience and one to savour at the very beginning of their development in football with YUFC 🙂
They played the Southampton Elite Pre Academy in the first match, a select U8 team and a third and final match of the afternoon against the second Southampton U7 Pre Academy team, in a close match in which they scored 4 goals.
Throughout the games the boys increased in confidence and playing brilliantly, as a team, scoring good goals and some really great saves by our keeper.
Most importantly they learnt so much and were buzzing afterwards!
