Last night SDP hosted its largest ever crowd for a football fixture and under our shiny new bright lights!
427 people from the community and beyond came to watch an exciting grassroots local cup derby and what an amazing night it was!
As a Club united and dedicated to it’s community we are so blessed to have such amazing support and we value it dearly! Thank you…
If you were one of the 427 people who can say “๐ ๐ฌ๐๐จ ๐ฉ๐๐๐ง๐ ๐ฌ๐๐๐ฃ…” we would love you to share your photos and positive memories of the night… please feel free to drop in the comments below
It may have not been the match result we would have hoped for but we remain incredibly proud of the team and club and look forward to many many more nights under the lights..and of course welcoming you all back.. Tom Rudall’s 75th minute goal, however will always hold the accolade of being the first ever Yateley United goal scored under the lights at Sean Devereux Park!
The match finished 2-4 to our neighbours, Combine Counties Premier South side, Camberley Town. We wish them all the very best for the season ahead and in the next round of the cup..
After the game, Camberley Town tweeted: ” Many thanks to Yateley United FC for their hospitality this evening, you’ve got a great thing going there. Sorry we spoiled the party a bit, but you’ll enjoy many more nights under the lights. Good luck for the rest of the season.
The night was one that truly showed off our ONE CLUB FOR ALL mentality, with members from all sections representing, helping, supporting and enjoying the evening…WHAT A CLUB!
Volunteers from across the club supported the night at the gates, in the centre and around the ground… but a highlight as always is seeing our 400 player strong youth section represented across all ages as Ball-Boys. Ball Girls & Mascots. The team fully appreciating their support and marked it by acknowledging every one of them as they left the field at the end of the game..
“the lads stood by the bridge at the end and every player came off and acknowledged them as they walked past and thank them for coming down and their support”
Some of them even had a cheeky ‘go’ on the pitch!
ONE CLUB UNITED!
